Speaking on Cyberbullying and Immigration: The Power of Community Support
I had the privilege of speaking at a school today about cyberbullying, discussing emotions, self-love, compassion, and the importance of asking Are you okay? We explored how hurt people hurt people and where bullying originates. What struck me most was learning that some students in the classroom had recently been forced to hide in their homes during ICE raids. This experience reminded me that we often don’t know what others are going through, and that real support in our communities comes from the people—through mutual aid, food pantries, and grassroots efforts—not from government institutions. I want to emphasize that for many people in Minnesota, the threat of ICE remains a present reality.
